Sharon holds a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, both from Kenyatta University.

Before joining the Teacher Service Commission, Ms. Wafukho worked at the Parliament of Kenya within the Centre for Parliamentary Studies and Training (CPST).

She was responsible for training Members of Parliament and legislative staff on Public Policy Analysis and Public Participation & Outreach.
