Amidst the buzz, TSC Secretary and CEO, Dr. Nancy Macharia, revealed that a substantial number of aspiring administrators have already received text messages, marking the beginning of a journey towards higher professional achievements.

In a recent appearance before the Departmental Committee on Education, Dr. Macharia unveiled the TSC’s ambitious plan for the fiscal year.

A total of 5,436 teachers are set to move from grade B5 (Primary Teacher I) to C1 (Primary Teacher II), with an additional 614 advancing from C1 to C2 and 5,208 from C2 to C3.
The geographical distribution of promotions reveals that Kakamega leads the pack with 551 teachers benefitting from this career leap, while Garissa County sees the fewest promotions, with 38 teachers making the grade.
Dr. Macharia emphasized the commission’s commitment to fairness and inclusivity by promoting an additional 13,717 teachers through competitive promotion and 1,021 through affirmative action in arid and semi-arid land (ASAL) and “Hard to Staff” areas.

In response to the persistent shortage of secondary school teachers, the TSC is tapping into a valuable resource — primary school educators.
Dr. Macharia disclosed that 7,282 qualified primary school teachers have been identified for deployment to junior secondary schools (JSS).
This innovative solution, initiated in 2019, involves promoting and deploying primary school teachers to address critical gaps in the secondary education sector.
As the interviews approach, candidates are reminded to come prepared with essential documents, including their original National ID card, academic and professional certificates, letters of appointment to the current grade and post, analyzed individual subject results and performance appraisal reports in KCSE for the last three years.
The meticulous documentation process underscores the TSC’s dedication to ensuring a thorough and transparent selection process.
The applicants will be required to present the following documents; during the physical interview sessions:
1. Original National ID card
2. Original Academic and Professional Certificate
3. Letter of appointment to the current grade
4. Letter of appointment to the current post
5. Analyzed individual subject results in KCSE examination for the last three years, certified by TSC CD/SCD
6. Performance Appraisal Report for 2020, 2021, and 2022
7. Any other relevant testimonials supporting your performance.
