The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is embarking on a mission to employ 20000 intern teachers annually.
This is aimed at addressing staffing shortages in both Secondary and Primary Schools.
This initiative responds to the increased demand caused by the introduction of free education, affecting both public primary and secondary schools.
Compensation Structure — Internship Stipends
- Secondary School Interns: Monthly stipend of Kes 20,000, subject to statutory deductions such as HELB Loan, PAYE tax, Medical fees (NHIF), and NSSSF.
- Primary School Interns: Gross monthly salary of Kes 15,000.
