You’re not alone.
The new KNEC LCBE portal allows schools to submit outcomes for grades one to three and classes five to seven.
However, navigating this system can be tricky for some schools and teachers.
But fear not, we’ve got you covered with a step-by-step guide on how to upload your assessments seamlessly.
#1. Visit the KNEC Portal
Open your preferred browser, enter the KNEC portal’s name, and press enter. Make sure you’re using a stable internet browser like Chrome or Firefox.
#2. Access the LCBE Portal
Under the “Primary Schools (K.C.P.E)” section on the left-hand side, click on the LCBE portal option. You’ll be directed to a login page.
#3. Login
Enter your login credentials. Typically, your username is your school code, and input your password. Click “Login.”
#4. Assessment Outcomes/ Scores
After logging in, click on the “Assessment Outcomes/ Scores” option, the fourth item on the menu on the left.
#5. Capture Scores for Learners
Download the “Marks Capture” Excel file by clicking the “Download” option. Open the template and accurately input the scores.
Don’t forget to save the document.
#6. Upload the Excel Document
Once you’re sure all the scores are correct, click the “Browse” button under option 2.
Select the folder where the Excel sheet is saved and press the “Upload excel document” option.
#7. View/Edit the Uploaded Excel Sheet
You can review and edit the entered outcomes if needed by clicking the “View/Edit Outcomes” button.
Any changes made will be automatically captured by the system when uploaded again.
Online Procedure
- Visit the KNEC Portal: Open your browser and search for the KNEC platform. Click on the first search result to access the portal.
- Access the LCBE Portal: Under the “Primary Schools (K.C.P.E)” section, press the LCBE portal button on the left-hand side. You’ll be redirected to a sign-in page.
- Login: Enter your KNEC login credentials. Typically, your username is your school code. Click “Login.”
- Assessment Outcomes/ Scores: Click the fourth option on the left-hand side to access the KNEC LCBE assessment screen.
- Open the Capture Outcome Window: On the right-hand side, press the blue “Capture Outcome” button. This will open a window containing pupils’ names and empty fields.
- Capture Scores: Check/tick the box for a specific pupil to begin entering their scores. Remember to click “Update” to save the information.
- Double-Check Scores: Click “View/Edit” to verify if the Excel sheet accurately captures each pupil’s results. If not, update the Excel sheet accordingly.
Remember, the KNEC portal now requires results for Grade 1 to 3 and Standard 5 to 7. If you forget your login credentials, use the “Need Help Or Forgotten Password link” or contact your Sub-County Director of Education (SCDE) for assistance.
